Course Objectives The course aims to address the academic and professional communication needs of students studying in healthcare-related disciplines. The course also aims to develop students’ ability to read, write and listen to health-related texts and increase their comprehension of spoken English on health topics.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • acquire the medical terminologies and expressions required to perform clinical duties in both written and spoken forms
  • use appropriate vocabulary, tone and style in a variety of written and spoken communications with other healthcare professionals
  • interview, report and record for the purpose of obtaining a patient's health history
  • apply the principles of professional ethics to manage different contextualized situations
  • easily follow interactions in group discussions on health issues
Course Description Focusing on productive skills,basically the communication skills for the participants to interact in real life social situations. The programme is designed in assisting the participants in making and comprehending texts and formats in the relevant field of the nursing industry, giving and receiving information in managing and performing tasks and duties as a nurse by using the proper English.
