Department Of Nursing ECTS Rate

Curriculum programs are structured to provide a total of 240 ECTS credits for four-year undergraduate programs.
In addition to compulsory courses, the programs include University Common Courses, Common Compulsory Courses, Core Courses, Professional Courses, and elective courses.

COURSES OFFERED IN THE NURSING DEPARTMENT
University Common Courses	Orientation and Career Planning	Students take this course in the Fall semester of their first year. The main objective of this course is to inform students about university life and to raise their awareness regarding career planning.
University Common Courses	Internship	In each undergraduate program, the total ECTS credits for internships cannot be less than 5 ECTS credits or more than 10 ECTS credits, as stated in the curriculum.
Common Compulsory Courses	Turkish Language Atatürk's Principles and the History of the Revolution	These are courses that are mandatory in undergraduate programs in Türkiye according to the provisions of the Higher Education Law.
Common Compulsory Courses	Academic Skills in English I Academic Skills in English - Part II Professional English I Professional English II Professional English III (or GER 121) Professional English IV (or GER 122) Professional English V (or GER 221) Professional English VI (or GER 222)	Students take these courses throughout their four years of study. These courses are designed to strengthen the language skills students will need in their academic programs.
Core Courses	Communication and Clinical Communication Introduction to Psychology Critical Thinking Anatomy Physiology Biochemistry Microbiology Pharmacology Pathology Infectious Diseases Research and Evidence-Based Practices Patient Safety Ethic	The undergraduate programs at SBF aim to develop students' scientific thinking skills, encourage research-based knowledge production, and foster the adoption of evidence-based practices. The program curricula are structured to enhance students' scientific competence by providing a strong academic foundation in both fundamental and applied sciences.
Professional Courses	Introduction to Nursing Fundamentals of Nursing Internal Medicine Nursing Surgical Nursing Women's Health Nursing Pediatric Nursing Public Health Nursing Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing Professional Practice Management in Nursing Surgical Units Nursing I and II Internal Medicine Nursing I and II	The Nursing Department aims to prepare its students for employment in healthcare institutions, rehabilitation centers, public health units, community organizations, and administrative settings. Laboratory work, simulation-based learning, and supervised clinical practices enable students to develop professional competencies aligned with national standards and field requirements. Students are expected to acquire the skills to perform their professional duties safely, effectively, ethically, and legally.

Students are encouraged to blend knowledge from different fields, connect it to their profession, develop themselves, and think critically.
