      Course Objectives At the end of this course the students are aimed to learn knowledge, attitudes and skills about protecting and improving the health of the individual, community and society, to the psycho-biological substructure of human behavior, to the ability to communicate correctly and effectively, to the basic philosophy of nursing.
      Learning Outcomes

      The students who succeeded in this course;

      • describe the nature, functions, roles, place in society, relation to other professions and occupation criteria of nursing profession,
      • explain basic theories, concepts, principles and methods for nursing care,
      • describe the importance of communication in human relations
      • communicate effectively using the right communication techniques
      • discuss the different bases underlying human behavior (eg physiological, social)
      • describe basic scientific theories and approaches of psychology (eg behavioral, cognitive).
      Course Description This course includes the historical development and philosophy of the nursing profession, the concept of profession and the process of profession, the concept of communication and its factors affecting communication, basic communication skills, research methods in psychology, nervous science and behavior, development and social psychology.
