      Course Objectives At the end of this course, students learn stoma and wound care with a evidence - based resources and current guidelines and knowledge and skills about the roles and responsibilities of the nurse in this area.
      Learning Outcomes

      The students who succeeded in this course;

      • explain the professional role and importance of wound and stoma care nurse,
      • define wound etiology, types and pathophysiological processes of wound healing
      • list stoma etiology, types and evaluation,
      • list nursing approaches in prevention and management of pressure wounds,
      • discuss nursing approaches in the prevention and management of diabetic foot injuries,
      • discuss nursing approaches in prevention and management of venous and arterial injuries
      • explain wound and ostomy care products and new technologies.
      Course Description This course covers wound and ostomy care nursing importance, wound etiology, classification, diagnosis, complications of recovery stages, ostomy etiologies, types and nursing approaches.
